ARE YOU READY TO LEARN AUDIO MASTERING?

If you work hard enough, learn as much as you can and follow the instructions you building up your work ethics. For example, if you getting asked to master songs where you can hear a lot of mistakes in the mix and can’t get the new mix off the mix engineer you have to find a way to tackle those problems, find solution and achieve great sounding master. You can do that by constantly learning how to fix issues and how to prevent them happening in the future.

Last part of the talent is the understanding of music. As a mastering engineer you have to be able to adopt to different styles of music, requirements and preferences. This is what I mention a lot in my mastering course – get to know the music by listening the music (listening a lot).

The remaining 10% is the gear. It might seems like a very small percentage of the whole but even if you have the best gear in the world, the most expensive monitors, great acoustics if you’re not willing to learn, work hard and discover new music styles your masters won’t be that good.

By talent I mean mindset, work ethics and understanding of music.  To be good at any aspect of our life you have to to have growth mindset. You have to be open minded and willing to take on new challenges. Putting yourself in uncomfortable position where you learning something new even if that means you have to spend x amount of hours getting it is a main ingredient of the talent.
